My 5 AM Morning Routine That Inspires Me Everyday

A healthy productive morning routine has been the foundation of my success.

Ever since I started waking up early everyday ( about 3 years ago ) I noticed significant improvement in my mood, productivity and how I felt at the end of the day.  Waking up early and setting up a productive morning routine has allowed me to flourish in ways I did not know possible.

Before having a morning routine, I felt drowsy ,unmotivated and uninspired throughout the day. It was exhausting to feel that way day to day.

That all changed once I started to wake up early and developed a morning routine that worked for me. It has allowed me to be more present throughout the day (which is something I worked for years on), saved my mental health and sanity,  focused on things that truly matter and has just truly transformed me for the better.

On days that I skip my morning routine, I feel the difference, and it sucks.

The beauty of morning routines is that it is different for everyone and you can tailor it your morning routine any way you like.

Don’t take my word for it! You must try waking up early and setting up a morning routine for yourself, I don’t think you will regret it!

Below you will find how my morning routine goes!

5 am: My Morning Routine Begins

Sometimes I wake up before the alarm as my body is conditioned to this point. But other mornings I wake up with the alarm and I NEVER hit snooze. I avoid looking through my phone and I don’t respond to any notifications.

At this time I immediately brush my teeth, wash my face and tidy up my hair. This is all takes about 15-20 minutes and by this time it is

5:15 am: Pray

I always wake up and pray first thing in the morning. It sets the tone for the day and it is something I never miss. I thank God for all of his blessings. I ask God for guidance and strength and knowledge to navigate this life. I express sincere gratitude to everything and everyone in my life.

5:30 : Hydrate, Coffee and Read

Drinking warm water in the morning is great for digestion and can help with metabolism. I generally boil my filtered water before I wash up so that it is ready by the time I am done.

I make my coffee and start reading. Reading every morning is a powerful habit that one should add to their morning routine. I generally read motivational, inspirational and educational books in the mornings, BUT some mornings I will read my un-pausable fiction book I picked up like this one that I simply could not put down( you need to read this book).

Current Educational book I am reading is : Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds by Daving Goggins.

I dedicate about 30-40 minutes to reading and slowly drinking my coffee in peace. It is my me time and is a crucial part of taking care of myself and I love it.

6:20 AM: Workout

7:10 AM: Breakfast time

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and it’s also the most important.

Lately my breakfast( and lunch sometimes)  has been this  yummy smoothie. High in protein and has loads of healthy ingredients that stabilize my blood sugar and will keep me going throughout the day. I also love to eat overnight oats in the morning.

I eat my breakfast slowly without any distractions. Usually, I sit on the balcony, with the soundtrack of birds chirping ( it is the ONLY “distraction” I love) 🙂

7:30 AM: Make another cup of coffee and journal

The last part of my morning routine consists of another cup of coffee and some light journaling. I like to write in my journal, right before I jump into the the work part of my day. It helps me to gather my thoughts and set clear intentions for the day.

7:45 AM – Plan out my Day

For 15 minutes I get out my planner and plan my day. It typically takes 15 min or less and here I get to write down everything I need to do for the day. It helps keep me in check through the day and helps me manage my time better.

8:00AM End of Morning Routine

And that is the end of my morning routine. My morning routine changes every now and then but for the most part has remained consistent throughout the years.
