Top 10 Healthy Snacks for Weight loss

Losing weight can be challenging for those who love to snack. Cravings can come out of nowhere and all of a sudden you are eating every snack out of your pantry. If you must snack, please snack on something healthy and filling.

The key thing to keep in mind when choosing a snack is to make sure it is high in protein, fiber and healthy fats. This will ensure to keep you full throughout the day. 

There are fortunately a lot of healthy snacks that will help you with weight loss and enhance your overall health.

I’ve compiled a list of healthy snacks that  are delicious, filling and will help you lose weight faster and they may be just what you need.

 

1. Hard Boiled Egg

Number one on my list is a hard boiled egg. Hard boiled eggs are THE perfect portion control snack and will be your best friend during your weight loss journey. 

Eggs are high in  protein and will keep you full throughout the day. 

You can prepare hard boiled eggs the night before and keep it in your refrigerator  to have it ready at any time. So do yourself a big favor and embrace the hard boiled egg as a snack. 

It really deserves all the recognition. Try the egg with some sriracha or my personal favorite mustard. Yum!

2. Dates

If you are craving something soft, chewy, sweet, low in calories and are irresistible, well then snack on dates!

Dates are high in nutrients and minerals and high in fiber. Because they are high in fiber it will slow down digestion and keep you fuller longer.

3. Pistachios

Looking for something salty and crunchy, well then go nuts! No really go nuts with pistachios. 

Pistachios will satisfy all of your craving in just one serving size.  

At only four calories each, pistachios are a relatively low-calorie snack and are high in healthy fats and minerals. 

So go snack on some pistachios, they will keep you full and happy.

4. Blueberries

Blueberries may be small but they pack a lot of goodness. They are low in calories but full in fiber and antioxidants.

Eat them fresh or frozen and you’ll be sure to feel satisfied and have your sweet tooth covered. 

Since blueberries are extremely versatile they can be eaten with just about anything. 

Pro-Tip: Try dipping your blueberries in yogurt and freezing them to make frozen yogurt blueberries. I seriously love them. 

5. Almonds

Another filling and hearty snack are almonds. Almonds have been proven to aid in weight loss and reduce belly fat due to its high protein content. 

Almonds are a pantry essential  and are my go to-s when I’m hungry and need something quick.

6. Apples and Peanut Butter

Want something sweet and savory. Say. no. more.

 Apples with peanut butter will check off all the boxes for that mid day snack craving. 

Peanut butter paired with fresh apples makes the perfect combination to satisfy your stomach and your craving as both are high in fiber. 

Peanut butter is packed with protein and healthy fats which are essential components of your diet when trying to lose weight. 

7. Frozen Green grapes 

When you want something sweet and cold. Frozen grapes are a great option. 

Grab a handful of frozen  grapes and start snacking!

8. Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt is a great source of protein which can help curb your cravings. It’s a simple addition to add into your diet as it also helps your gut microbiome. 

Low in calories and high in protein greek yogurt is a powerful snack that will keep you fuller longer.

Pro -Tip : Make sure you’re getting plain greek yogurt without any added sugars. I top my greek yogurt with berries and nuts.

9. Sardines

Sardines are yet another great source of protein and with its abundance of healthy fats like Omega 3s, your heart will thank you for it. 

You can eat them right out of the can and you don’t even have to cook anything.

It’s one of my favorite snacks and I always make sure I have them. 

Pro- Tip: Make sure to buy the canned sardine in olive oil to get the benefits of healthy fats.

10. Beef Jerky

Beef jerky is a perfect snack option. High in protein, it can reduce your hunger between meals and keep you fuller longer. 

Be sure to read the labels and avoid beef jerky that is high in sodium and artificial ingredients

Bottom Line 

Consuming health snacks throughout the day can certainly help you in losing weight and keep you on track but don’t over do it. Remember to include a variety of foods that have plenty of protein, fiber and healthy fats, this will ensure to keep you full and avoid hunger cravings.
