Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival is an annual event that features over 100,000 pumpkins, hayrides, corn mazes, and live entertainment. It is the largest pumpkin patch in the nation.

I love going to the apple orchards and then banking the sweetest apple crumbles and apple pies in the fall. It is just an obligatory activity in the fall. Gizdich Ranch is also another apple orchard in Watsonville that will offer pick-your-own apples starting in mid-September. Varieties include Fuji and Golden Delicious. It is also famous for its the homemade fresh-fruit pies, apple dumplings, and apple slush
3. Take a Eastern Sierras Fall Road Trip
Before you make your pumpkin spice latte and hit the road be sure to check out California Fall Color to get the most up-to-date information on the best spots for fall foliage in California. And to know when the fall colors are peaking.
The Eastern Sierras have spectacular fall colors, beautiful groves of yellow interspersed with vivid orange and reds. Simply drive through a scenic mountain pass like Tioga Pass and let yourself be awed by the colors.
Take a fall scenic road trip from San Francisco to Mammoth Lakes. See Lee Vining Canyon and kayak on the many beautiful lakes in the area.
A Highway 395 Fall Road Trip is also a perfect fall road trip and it is not that far from the bay area.
4. Take a less crowded Scenic Drive along Highway 1
Take a scenic drive along California’s iconic Highway 1 and witness the breathtaking beauty of the Pacific Coast. The Ferry Building Marketplace is an exceptional San Francisco farmers market that features a wide variety of vendors and stunning views of the Bay. Marin Country Market features over 200 vendors selling fresh produce, artisanal goods, and prepared foods.

Explore the breathtaking beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains with a fall hike. I love going to the Sierras in the fall, especially Yosemite! Crisp mountain air, and stunning views all throughout the mountains. Oh and way less people. The Mirror Lake Trail in Yosemite is a 4.4-mile loop trail near Yosemite Valley, California. And it has nice fall colors from the surrounding oak, maple, and dogwood trees.
7. Curl up with a good book by a fireplace at a charming inn or cabin
